Minimum Grade: O-3 (Lieutenant)
Commitment: Approximatly 6-8 hours per week
Open to: All eligible crew
Must be an SFI member
90+ days as a member of the chapter preferred
Must maintain 75%+ attendance rate to General Meetings
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop CS6 or equivalent preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent required
Working knowledge of social media including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, etc. required
Good communication skills over email and phone are a must
The Chief Communications Officer is responsible for the distribution of information from the chapter to the public. Under the direction of the Executive Officer, they help monitor the chapter’s social media accounts and actively contact local media and business outlets to organize appearances. They also create and publish the chapter newsletter (Warp Trails) at the beginning of each month. They will work in conjunction with the Recruitment Officers in the planning and/or promoting of chapter events.
Training will be provided upon appointment. You must be available to attend training sessions on weekends. Dates and times will be determined based on availability.
This position has the potential of becoming a Senior Staff level position in the future.
Officers of grade O-2 (Lieutenant, J.G.) are eligible to apply if they feel they meet the prerequisite and or skill criteria. A promotion to O-3 will be considered after 90 days in position.
